I’m filling out an application

  • How do I apply?

Applying for Ringo Jewellery Insurance is quick and easy to do! You can get a quote and apply for a policy on our website by clicking here.

The process involves answering some questions, uploading a few photos and documents for your jewellery, and then paying the premium after we have accepted your application.

  • How much should I insure my item for?

Deciding how much to insure your jewellery for is an important decision. Underinsuring your jewellery may result in you having to contribute to a claim to repair your jewellery or replace it on a like-for-like basis. Alternatively, over insuring your jewellery may result in you paying more for your insurance for cover you do not need.

Insuring your jewellery for its retail replacement cost can help to reduce the risk of underinsurance. The retail replacement cost is the cost your jeweller would charge to replace your jewellery with a like-for-like item. This could be the purchase price of the jewellery (if it is a new item) or the amount listed in the valuation certificate for your jewellery (if its has been gifted to or inherited by you, or is an older item).

  • What documents do I need to provide when applying for a policy?

We do require some documents from you so that we can understand the specifics of your jewellery.

    These documents include:

    • A copy of the tax invoice from your jeweller
    • A copy of the valuation certificate (if you were provided with one)
    • Clear photos of the jewellery
    • A ‘proof of possession’ photo of the jewellery in front of something recently dated such as an email from us, a receipt or phone or electricity bill.

  • What happens if I do not submit all the required documentation to Ringo?

If you cannot provide all the required documentation, please contact our friendly team at contact@ringoinsurance.com.au and they can assist you with your application.

  • Can I insure my partners engagement ring?

Yes! You can take out a policy for a ring you plan on giving your partner.

You can choose to add your partner’s name to the policy at a later date allowing them to call or email to make changes to the policy.

  • Can I get coverage, even if I’ve made a jewellery insurance claim in the past?

You will be asked to disclose all jewellery related insurance claims you or anyone to be insured under the policy has made in the past 3 years. As part of your duty to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation, you must answer this question truthfully and accurately. Depending on your claim history, we may refuse to offer you a policy.

  • Can I change my insured value before accepting my offer?

It is possible to change the insured value for your jewellery at anytime. However, if you increase the insured value you may be required to pay us additional premium. If you would like to change the insured value for your jewellery item, please contact us at contact@ringoinsurance.com.au.

  • Can I pay my premium monthly?

It is possible to pay the premium for your policy by an annual payment or monthly instalments. It does work out cheaper to pay the premium for your policy by annual payment.

You can receive an instant quote on our website by clicking here.

  • What kind of payment methods does Ringo accept?

At Ringo we are committed to ensuring that your billing details are stored securely.

At this point in time we can only accept payment via debit and credit card.

  • Help! I can't get through the system even though everything is correct.

If you are experiencing difficulties submitting an application, we are here to help!

Firstly, please double check that the information entered is correct and all required fields are complete. If you still require assistance please contact the Ringo team at contact@ringoinsurance.com.au or by calling us on 1300 359 816.

I’m curious about jewellery insurance

  • Why should I get specialist jewellery insurance instead of home and contents insurance?

You wear your jewellery everywhere and every day so it’s important to have the most comprehensive cover.

At Ringo we know you want to enjoy your jewellery by wearing it everywhere and every day. We specialise in jewellery insurance, it’s all we do, so we’ve come up with a policy to provide comprehensive coverage that you need, to enjoy your jewellery every day.

Home & Contents insurance is generally designed to cover the contents of your home while they are at your home. There may also be limits on the amount of cover for jewellery items unless you have paid to specify these items. Ringo Jewellery Insurance is designed to cover your jewellery up to the insured value you have chosen irrespective of whether it is at your home or out and about with you.

  • I don't travel overseas. Do I need specialist jewellery insurance?

You wear your jewellery everywhere and every day, so it is important to make sure you are comprehensively covered regardless of how much you travel.

Insuring with Ringo is the best way to protect your jewellery for accidental damage, loss and theft, both in and out of the home.

A full list of our policy features can be found on our website by clicking on here.

  • What are the exclusions of the policy?

For information regarding policy exclusions, please read the Combined Product Disclosure Statement and Financial Services Guide listed on our website here.

  • Where can I find the Combined PDS and FSG?

The Combined PDS & FSG can be found on our website. For a downloadable PDF version, please click here.
